Good evening all. Many thanks to those who stepped in to answer, as I missed the inquiry. We are closed for the winter. We closed at the end of October and will reopen in early/mid May. Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season and warm winter. See you in 2020!
Hello and thanks for reaching out. We should be opening around mid-May 2019. I will most likely post something on our Facebook page to announce the exact date. Look forward to welcoming you back to the Truc Orient Express in 2019.
Hello Annie, yes, we are the same family that started the original Truc’s in Hartford in the mid-1970’s and was since owned and operated by the owner’s brother, Binh. That restaurant has been closed for some years now.
It is usually open when the restaurant is open. If you call they may be able to open at an off time. They are the most lovely people!
We have been going here for years and nothing ever changes. Wonderful food and a very friendly staff.
One of the greatest restaurants on Earth.
Some of the best Vietnamese food I've had only problem is very limited menu
I first discovered this place around 1985, it was a place to get a fresh clean taste. I made friends with Louie and than unfortuanately I moved 3 hours away in NH. I visited again in 95 where I caught up to my friend Louie the owner in Lenox at a food fair. Now ive always enjoyed the food, especially the appetizers and sauces. I also get the summer squid dish with vegetables.I plan on visiting again in July and Im not sure My friend Louie will remember or not but it will be a fun visit and I love the food.So Louie if you are reading this I found a few pictures of you and the misses from the mid 80,s and one of you and I in the 90,s
Nice place. Owners' kids great workers. Sweet and courteous. Food solid. Also, lots of Asian pots etc. For sale.
Good Vietnamese restaurant close to Tanglewood. Good spring rolls. Typical Chinese as well as good Vietnamese specials.
Very good food, interesting surrounding
Excellent meal. When we arrived we were told they were short-staffed. As the restaurant was fairly crowded, we expected to have our order delayed and to experience slow service. This wasn't the case at all, as the staff worked extra hard to get everything right. We had delicious vegetarian starters and entrees. Highly recommend this place.
Decent food Service is a problem Owner is argent and when we ordered a meal and they brought out something else HE refused to exchange it and insisted we were wrong... Wont eat there again.. Prices were high for the quality. We had been staying at Williamsvile inn and were looking for a little different fare We went to West Stockbridge and saw what we thought was a lovely Vietnamese Restaurant this occurred in 2009 . Perhaps the ownership changed since then and nicer people run it now.
Way, way, way over priced. $20-30 entrees like the sweet and sour chicken that they serve with cold rice. Fried rice that comes out luke warm, as if it was reheated. Great atmosphere and friendly service but not worth the money.
Awesome! Gift shop supports artisans in Vietnam! You must see it to fully appreciate all the beautiful items here! The family is so gracious and the restaurant is so amazing! Don't miss this wonderful place and their hospitality! Seasonal so check before you go!
Truc Orient Express is a little gem in the heart of West Stockbridge. The food is wonderful, fresh, tasty and authentic Vietnamese. The people are genuine, warm and friendly and great service. They also have a nice shop with imported gifts.
Horrible service - both from the surly man who sat us and from the unfriendly manager - a small request from her and she almost lost her temper. Food was just OK - overpriced for what it is - the much lauded Happy Pancake was rather sad. However the worst part was that my husband and I had food poisoning a few hours later, probably from bad shrimp - it seemed off when we had it. Avoid.
Overpriced and lacking taste. Good quality ingredients overcooked and missing key spices. Food was okay with soy sauce and hot sauce added to it. Staff was slow and forgetful when asked for extra items. I tried their signature crispy pancakes and was unimpressed.
Got the $27 seafood curry, came with just two shrimp and two scallops. It was very tasty but ridiculously priced.
It's like going to Vietnam without taking a plane. The food and people were amazing.
Great place. Very nice aesthetics. Good food, very friendly folks.
Somewhat dissapointing. Just as atmosphericly charming as I'd remembered. My duck was overdone and dry. Burried by an over spiced thin sauce and accompanied by perfectly steamed but flavorless vegetables. My friends Happy Pancake was crispy but lacked any intricacy of flavor. Our flan was ok but served somewhat damaged (looked like it was dumped on the plate) & completely unadorned. Not a bad meal, but not worth the price.Service was competent and pleasant.Coffee is no longer available.
Always amazing food and amazing service! I would say it is a definite must on any restaurant bucket list!
everything is fine, but they charge extra for tea
Not perfect, but reliable and always fresh, beautifully-cooked food. This family run (our host was all of 8) local Vietnamese restaurant has some aspects to legitimately criticize like the ac is rarely on, even assuming they have it, and the wait staff is either family or less than expert (but unfailingly sweet), but the food will rarely disappoint. Prices are reasonable for Berkshire food, but seem to grow year by year. But then there is the food. If Vietnamese is what you crave it should satisfy.
Fresh delicious food! Very friendly and welcoming.
a tad pricey. original, non-standard vietnamese-inspired entrees.
